Aegon started its activity in Romania in 2007, when BT Aegon – the private pensions company – was launched, with the help of our partner, Banca Transilvania.

Our initial goal was to provide our customers with complete financial services, that’s why, in 2008, we launched our second business in Romania, Aegon Life Insurance Company.

As the local insurance market was expanding, we kept investing in new strategic partnerships.

In 2009, we initiated a new partnership with Banca Transilvania, which allowed us to provide further insurance and saving products to our customers and to strengthen our bancassurance expertise. We have currently added two more banking partners, namely Idea::Bank and Alpha Bank, asserting our position as a specialized bankassurance company on the Romanian market.
