European Bank for Reconstruction and Development – Advice for Small Businesses

Through the Advice for Small Businesses (ASB) programme, the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development helps small and medium enterprises (SMEs), owned by local entrepreneurs, to access business advice that allows them to grow and reach new levels of development. Whether it’s a website, a quality management system, a marketing strategy or even a completely new governance structure, the EBRD ASB team works with SMEs to define the best consultancy project to fit their needs. The programme offers support through the whole process, from application to implementation, using more than 10 years of experience to make sure the project achieves the best results. Moreover, the EBRD offers grants of around 50% of the project cost and access to a database of around 300 consultants.

EBRD ASB supports businesses from many industries, such as food and beverages, wholesale and retail distribution, construction and engineering, and from all areas of Romania – 47% of projects implemented so far are outside of Bucharest, while 13% are in the North West region and 8% in Cluj county. More information about EBRD ASB projects is available at https://www.basromania.ro/info-centre/10 , and the application procedure is detailed at https://www.basromania.ro/information-for-enterprises/4 . The programme welcomes applications from both potential beneficiaries and consultants.
