-High level Innovation and Technology event in Cluj-
Cluj-Napoca City Hall, in collaboration with the National Authority for Communications Administration and Regulation, the Ministry of Research, Innovation and Digitization (MCID), the Embassy of Romania in Tokyo, the Embassy of Japan in Bucharest, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications of Japan (MIC) and Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will organize in Cluj-Napoca, between June 18-20, 2023, the first edition of the Romanian-Japanese Innovation Forum 2023.
The event demonstrates the commitment of bilateral collaboration between the two states in the field of ICT and, at the same time, the innovative potential and resources of the Romanian community in the public and private sector in the field, open to partnership with entities from Japan with globally recognized technological performance.
The main areas of interest that will be addressed during this event are 5G technologies, smart cities, startups, etc., thus wanting the involvement and participation of both the public and private sectors in the two countries, as well as the participation active of local communities.
The Romanian-Japanese Innovation Forum represents an opportunity to facilitate interactions and the exchange of information and best practices between the representatives of the Japanese institutions that will be present at the event and the Romanian institutions, with a view to strengthening the country’s relations in the sphere of innovation and digitalization, promoting cooperation between the two states in fields such as information and communication technology and digitization, respectively supporting interactions between private companies, including start-up ones.
Also, the event includes the organization of an exhibition space for the entire duration, i.e. June 18-20, 2023, which will allow the exposure of prominent Romanian companies alongside Japanese companies, thus aiming to intensify commercial relations through the realization of future economic partnerships with companies profile from Japan and opportunities for Romanian companies in the field of innovation and digitization, including start-up ones.
Romanian-Japanese Innovation Forum 2023, (Forum for Romanian-Japanese Innovation), organized at the Grand Hotel Italia between June 18-20, 2023, is an event in the context of the Romanian-Japanese Strategic Partnership, assumed on March 7, 2023, through the Declaration Commune signed by the President of Romania, Mr. Klaus Iohannis and the Prime Minister of Japan, Mr. Fumio Kishida.
This Strategic Partnership represents the advancement of Romanian-Japanese collaboration relations at the highest level and the transition to a higher stage of capitalizing on the bilateral potential, on three key dimensions: foreign policy and dialogue on security issues, economic cooperation and in the field of assistance for development, namely cooperation in the fields of culture, science and technology, innovation, research and development.
