OVERVIEW

• Cluj ”Avram Iancu“ International Airport (CJIA) is the first regional airport of Romania and second airport of the country in terms of passenger traffic;
• CJIA relies on modern airport infrastructure: new runway, new apron, new taxiways – inaugurated in 2013, new passenger terminals inaugurated in 2008 and 2009;
• In 2016 Cluj International Airport recorded 1.880.319 passengers, representing a 27% growth compared to 2015
• CJIA provides direct and connection flights worldwide – 47 regular destinations in 21 countries;
• Cluj ”Avram Iancu“ International Airport plays a key role in the economic and touristic development of the North-West region of the country.

FUTURE DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS (2017-2020)

• development of intermodal infrastructure for passengers and freight transport;
• extension of runway to a total length of 3,420 m, which will help diversify the route network and improve the connectivity of the region;
